Entrepreneurship 101
Are
you wondering what your next adventure will be? Have you been intrigued
by the idea of social entrepreneurship but don't know where to begin? Spirit
of Service '76 is pleased to offer a
mini-workshop "Social Entrepreneurship 101." This interactive workshop is specifically targeted to and developed for members of our class as part of The Class of '76
Environmental Initiative. Join us on Saturday, November 14, 9:30am to 11am (prior to the
Yale game). Location TBD. You
will leave the mini-workshop with - An
understanding of social entrepreneurship
- Knowledge
about practices that help entrepreneurial social ventures thrive
- Techniques
for formulating preliminary plans for an entrepreneurial social endeavor
- A
list of resources for learning more about developing and funding social
ventures
Andrew
Seligsohn, Director of Civic
Engagement Learning at Princeton University's Pace Center, will lead the
mini-workshop. He is a graduate of Williams College and holds a PhD in
political science from the University of Minnesota. At Princeton, Andrew
has been a lecturer in the Center for African American Studies. His work
at the Pace Center includes programs in social entrepreneurship and community
organizing. For
The Class of '76 Environmental Initiative, The Pace Center is one
of our valued partners, along with: Just a
reminder: We need to raise $20K to sponsor The Class of '76 Green Business Plan
Competition. This money will be awarded to student teams to
start their own environmental ventures. We only have until
December 18, 2009 to meet
this fundraising goal, so please go to the website dues page to contribute to this effort.
