Social Entrepreneurship 101


Are you wondering what your next adventure will be?  Have you been intrigued by the idea of social entrepreneurship but don't know where to begin?  Spirit of Service '76 is pleased to offer a mini-workshop "Social Entrepreneurship 101." This interactive workshop is specifically targeted to and developed for members of our class as part of The Class of '76 Environmental Initiative. 


Join us on Saturday, November 14, 9:30am to 11am

You will leave the mini-workshop with

  1. An understanding of social entrepreneurship
  2. Knowledge about practices that help entrepreneurial social ventures thrive
  3. Techniques for formulating preliminary plans for an entrepreneurial social endeavor
  4. A list of resources for learning more about developing and funding social ventures           

Andrew Seligsohn, Director of Civic Engagement Learning at Princeton University's Pace Center, will lead the mini-workshop. He is a graduate of Williams College and holds a PhD in political science from the University of Minnesota.  At Princeton, Andrew has been a lecturer in the Center for African American Studies.  His work at the Pace Center includes programs in social entrepreneurship and community organizing. 

 

For The Class of '76 Environmental Initiative, The Pace Center  is one of our valued partners, along with:

Just a reminder:  We need to raise $20K to sponsor The Class of '76 Green Business Plan Competition.  This money will be awarded to student teams to start their own environmental ventures.  We only have until December 18, 2009 to meet this fundraising goal, so please go to the website dues page to contribute to this effort.
